Hi there! I’m Jeanette, and my husband, Johnny, and I have been building our dream farm life for the past 10 years. What started as a simple search for a livestock guardian dog in 2015 led us down the path of raising animals, gardening, and embracing farm life in every way.
Our journey began with Laci May, our beloved Great Pyrenees, and soon after, we were inspired to expand our farm. In 2017, we started with 10 White Leghorn chickens, and from there, our flock grew to include a variety of chicken breeds, ducks, and guineas. Over the years, we’ve loved providing farm-fresh eggs to our community while learning everything we could about raising poultry.
I eventually left my full-time job to pursue my passion for farming and found a way to blend it with digital marketing. Now, I create helpful guides and resources to teach others how to raise chickens and ducks with confidence. Beyond poultry, we also love gardening! From our greenhouse to our backyard garden, we grow fresh fruits and vegetables here in Zone 6 (Southern West Virginia), and I’m excited to share tips and tricks for gardening in this region.
Johnny, a 20-year Army veteran, stays busy tinkering with farm equipment, building things around the farm, and helping with projects like improving our chicken coop and garden structures. We’ll be sharing all of that, too—so if you love hands-on farm projects, you’re in the right place!
